Ageing infrastructure and municipal water supply interruptions made the installation of an upgraded water storage solution at Life Westville hospital a necessity. The 286-bed healthcare facility based 20km from central Durban, in KwaZulu-Natal, required uninterrupted water supply to accommodate requirements such as the daily flushing of the oxygen tank nozzles to remove ice-build up.<\/p>\n

Wastewater from these activities was draining into the sewer system and stormwater system and to save water, a plan was devised to harvest and recycle this water for various other applications on the premises. An SBS Tank, model ST09\/06, with a gross storage capacity of 186kl and 7m footprint was installed near the main municipal water connection in a corner of the property that would not impact future expansion plans.<\/p>\n

Positioned in a corner of the property, next to the main entrance and exit to the Pavilion Shopping Centre, with Westway Office Park just around the corner, the tank was ideally positioned for branding exposure to passing traffic on the busy route. The result: a dual-purpose asset for the client, uninterrupted water supply and maximum exposure.<\/p>\n
