As Southeast Asia continues to prioritise improved public infrastructure, reliable water access remains a cornerstone of sustainable development. In support of this goal, SBS Tanks was proud to partner with our local distributor, Enviroz Asia Pacific, who was working with the Sibu Water Board on a critical municipal water project in Sarawak, Malaysia – delivering two elevated water tanks as part of the expansive Sarawak Water Supply Grid Programme.
Commissioned as part of a government initiative to boost water access in underserved regions of Sarawak, this tank installation features:
• 1 x ST06/02 (28kL) backwash water tank located at the Paloh Water Treatment Plant.
• 1 x ST20/04 (615kL) potable water tank serving the Kampung Paloh community.
These tanks not only support water treatment and storage operations but also ensure the consistent supply of safe, clean drinking water to rural residents – an essential service aligned with national public health objectives.
In Malaysia, particularly in Sarawak, elevated tanks are often essential due to the region’s tropical climate, flood-prone terrain, and varying elevations. The SBS modular panel tank system proved the ideal fit for this application:
• Corrosion-resistant materials ensure durability in humid, high-rainfall environments.
• Customisable modular design allowed precise capacity matching and efficient transportation to rural build sites.
• Rapid on-site installation kept timelines tight and disruptions minimal.

One of the standout elements of this project was SBS Tanks’ compliance with SIRIM 18: 2017, SPAN & SWA certification – an indispensable stamp of quality in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia.
