Water storage tanks from SBS Tanks utilise 2% of the carbon footprint of the equivalent concrete reservoirs. Our modular, lightweight water storage tank design is a game-changer in more ways than one. Tank panels fit into each other for ease of transportation and reduce the size of the delivery vehicle or shipping container required. The lightweight panels, as part of the engineered design profile, reduce or eliminate the need for heavy-duty loading and unloading equipment, without compromising the structural strength, durability and longevity of the water storage tank.
As a result of the reduced weight and compact design, freight charges, impact on public road surfaces and transport frequency are all reduced. An entire bulk water storage tank of up to 4.2 million litres can be delivered to the site in one load, offloaded and installed by our experienced teams in a matter of days, or weeks, for the largest capacity tanks in the range. Regional installation teams, accommodated close to the tank location during the installation process, further reduce the travel requirements and environmental impact.
We recognise the importance of preserving water and strive to minimise water usage wherever possible. A narrow high-strength ring beam is required as a base for our larger capacity water tanks requiring a small amount of water during the construction process. This, however, is only a fraction of what is required for the construction of a concrete alternative.
Thanks to the modular steel panel tank design, we can install our water storage tanks in remote areas where road infrastructure might not exist. There is no need for the construction of roads and infrastructure before installing one of our bulk water storage tanks. This reduces the installation cost and minimises the environmental impact, speeding up the delivery time frame to ensure water storage is readily available in challenging locations. SBS Tanks can also be used for the storage of a wide range of liquids from raw seawater, borehole water, harvested rainwater, drinking water, effluent or process wastewater and double-up as a fire suppression and backup water storage tank.
